Rosie Reay
Rosie Reay is a well-travelled author as you may have guessed already. She has lived in Africa, England and Spain, apart from her travels in North America. Her first book was inspired by a road trip a few years ago from California, USA to British Columbia, Canada and it has in fact triggered the whole Chimona Chronicles series.
A unique aspect of this series of books by Rosie is that each is accompanied by full character sketches and an online glossary - helping children and their parents better understand the terminology and the characters.
In addition, each story manages to weave in a poem - this has become a unique trademark of her books. These kids poems may be separately published later.
Rosie currently lives in the olive and mandarin countryside between Barcelona and Valencia, Spain above the lovely Ebro River valley. Surrounded by her own crowd of pets, she actually does work as a professional U.S. naming consultant! (See www.BrighterNaming.com).
In addition, Rosie helps Spanish students perfect their English and writes blogs (www.EbroVoice.com), articles and marketing materials for the English community in that part of the country.
Rosie has a regular column "Tales from the Ebro Valley" in the Expats paper "Catalunya Chronicles". Likewise, she is a popular monthly book reviewer for the paper. Read all the back issues at http://issuu.com/ChronicCat.
